It is a little over a decade since the world watched in unbelief as 40 years of communist control and oppression seemed to crumble away over night. Who will ever forget the scenes of thousands of Eastern Europeans tearing down piece by piece a wall that had separated them from their political and spiritual freedom. Today, although the wall has fallen, the dust has yet to settle! The effects of decades of persecution and atheism have left deep scars on the people of these lands.
The greatest need of the church in Eastern Europe today is sustained and strategic leadership training. In the years we have been ministering in Eastern Europe we have become increasingly aware of the need for leadership resources to be made readily available to pastors and leaders. Resources such as leadership training seminars delivered through internet based streaming video and ministry dvds specifically produced in the leader’s own national language. Such resources are very rare in Eastern Europe and vital to the development of the church.
We have established Wordleader as a ministry to facilitate the development and sponsorship of such resources. At present Eastern Europe is enjoying freedom of religion. How long these liberties will remain - we just don’t know. Already we are seeing signs of an increase in persecution in some of the former Russian states. It is essential that we establish the flow of ministry resource into these nations whilst the doors remain open.
We trust you will partner with us to bring the gospel to where it is most desperately needed yet hardest to find.
